Watermelon Cocktail Recipes for Summer
What’s not to love about watermelon? It’s low in calories, high in vitamins, and it tastes oh so good. Fortunately, watermelon season is back and we plan on using the delectable fruit in a number of summer recipes. Basil Watermelon Cooler- Vodka
This refreshing recipe is sure to become one of your summer faves. To make the Basil Watermelon Cooler, you will need peeled ginger, basil leaves, a chunk of watermelon, simple syrup, Grey Goose vodka, fresh lime juice, and ginger ale. In a shaker, mix in 3 basil leaves, 1 sliced peeled ginger, 1 piece of watermelon, and 1/2 oz. of simple syrup. Then, add in 2 oz. of vodka and 1/2 oz. of lime juice and fill the rest of the shaker with ice. Shake it up, strain into a glass, and top it off with ginger ale.
Watermelon Mojito- Rum
If you’re a rum drinker, this tasty cocktail is right up your alley. The Watermelon Mojito calls for sugar, lime juice, rum, mint leaves, and watermelon. To make 4 drinks, grab a shaker and add 20 chopped mint leaves, 2 tbs. of superfine sugar, and 1/2 cup of freshly squeezed lime juice. Then, fill with ice and add 3/4 of a cup of light rum and 6 oz. of seedless pureed watermelon. Shake well and strain into an old-fashioned glass over ice.
Watermelon Margarita- Tequila
One tequila. Two tequila. Three tequila. Floor. This Watermelon Margarita recipe is sure to be a poolside hit. The cocktail calls for sliced watermelon, kosher salt, lime juice, St. Germain Elderflower liqueur, and silver tequila. To get the most out of the watermelon flavor, place 4 1/2 cups of diced watermelon into a blender along with 1/4 tsp. kosher salt, 3 oz. of freshly squeezed lime juice, 1 1/2 oz. of elderflower liqueur, and 6 oz. of silver tequila. Then, simply puree until smooth. Finally, the drinks can be served immediately or chilled for a few hours in the refrigerator.
